Scott Denlinger Wins $1500 Top Prize at Bowl-O-Rama

The BuddiesProShop.com Adult Bowlers Tour continued its 6th season with its 1st Extra Payout Tournament.  This event was held at Bowl-O-Rama in Reading, PA.  This event, similar to many of our events, featured the best scratch bowlers competing for an extra top prize of $1500.  The event was conducted on the ABT (Amateur Bowlers Tour) pattern.  The format was our normal 6 games of qualifying but the top 25% of the field advanced to bowl 3 additional games of head-to-head match play…..with the scores from qualifying carrying over.  At the completion of 9 games, the top 5 bowlers advanced to our stepladder final.

Scott Denlinger was this year’s champion.  Scott had a solid block of qualifying.  He shot games of 213, 221, 214, 182, 235, and 246 to sit at +111 thru 6 games.  He was seeded 4th out of 12 bowlers who made match play.  He only trailed tournament leader Matthew O’Grady by 20 pins.  12th place cut was -25.  In Match Play, Denlinger went 2-1 with games of 211, 215, and 215.  His 2 match play wins moved him to +212 and was the tournament leader entering the stepladder.  In the title match, Denlinger took on Brian Cavey.  Their match came down to the final frame….but in the end….Denlinger defeated Cavey 202-182 to take the title and the $1500 top prize.
