Scott Denlinger Wins BuddiesProShop.com $2000 Invitational Championship

The BuddiesProShop.com Adult Bowlers Tour finished off our season with a trip back to AMF Parkway Lanes in Allentown, PA, for our Invitational.  We would like to thank BuddiesProShop.com for Adding $1000 to our Prize Fund for this event.  We appreciate their continued support of our Scratch Adult Events.

This year’s invitational was an extended format of 6 Games Qualifying — Top 40% bowled 3 Additional Games of Qualifying — Top 5 Advanced to Stepladder Final

The pattern for this year’s event was the ABT (Amateur Bowlers Tour) #6 – 42 ft — proved to be a very tough pattern!

Scott Denlinger, despite being considered a senior statesman of our tour, brought home the victory.  In our events, seniors are considered anyone over 45 years of age.  Denlinger is over 45 and continues to prove that he can bowl with the best of them!  Denlinger shot qualifying games of 191, 258, 242, 225, 236, and 172 for 1324 (+124).  He led the field of 26 on this day.  Scores were at a premium.  Only 4 bowlers of 26 were plus after 6 games of qualifying.  Our first field cut for 6 games was 10th place at -58.  In Round 2, Denlinger started strong with 234 but struggled to the finish.  He hit some tough pairs and shot 156 and 176.  After 9 games, he stood at +90 and had lost the lead by 2 pins to Brian Elder.  Elder, who qualified for Round 2 in 7th place….shot the 3 game block of the day with 245-220-239 for 704.  He propelled himself into the lead with Denlinger 2nd entering the stepladder finals.   Denlinger entered the finals in the semi-final match vs #5 seed Jason Stadtler.  Stadtler had won the first 2 stepladder matches but ran out of gas.  Denlinger defeated Stadtler 207-145.  Denlinger then took on Elder for the title.  This match came down the late frames.  Elder chopped a 6-10 spare in the 10th and shot 213.  He opened the door for Denlinger to mark and win the match….in which Denlinger did.  Denlinger doubled in the 10th and won the title match over Elder 235-213.  Denlinger took home the $2000 top prize and his 2nd victory of the year!
