The PJBT continued its 16th season with our 28th event of the year.  This week the tour rolled into East Lincoln Lanes in York, PA.  East Lincoln is one of the smallest centers we have on tour….but bowlers love coming at East Lincoln.  Our youth are known for shooting some high scores at this 18 lane center.   On this day, the PJBT saw 48 bowlers compete…including 28 in scratch and 20 in handicap.

In scratch, Gene Blair of Maryland, captured his 1st ever PJBT title.  In turn, in Matt’s opinion….also became the most unique dressed winner we have ever seen!  Love the pink shirt with matching pink pants….Matt believes real men wear pink!  Blair did not make it easy on himself to victory though.  Blair was seeded 9th after the 5 game qualifying round with a score of 1098 or +98.  He trailed 5 game tournament leader Zachary Dragovits by almost 100 pins….as Dragovits shot 1192 (+192).  The top 12 of 28 made match play and the cut was +84 or 1084.  Blair won 2 of his 3 match play matches and snuck his way into 5th place for the 5 person stepladder final.   Blair then walked the ladder in the finals.  In match one, Blair defeated Tyler Robles 208-164.  The second match saw Blair defeat Daniel Althouse 227-179.  In the semi-final, Blair defeated Zachary Dragovits 258-221.  Blair then advanced to the title match vs tournament leader Roger Harford Jr.  Blair defeated Harford Jr in the title match 202-170.  Blair took home the $200 top scholarship prize.

In Handicap, Mackenzie Chesko captured her 2nd title of the year.  Chesko, who captured her 1st ever title back in January….followed it up with a victory on this day in the month of February.  Chesko led the handicap field after qualifying with +193 or 1193.  The top 8 bowlers in handicap made match play and the cut was +50 or 1050.  Chesko maintained her lead through match play and was the tournament leader entering the final stepladder games.  In the title match, Chesko faced Alex Fodor for the title.  This match was exciting and came down to the last frame.  Chesko outlasted Fodor 177-160 to take home the $200 top scholarship prize.

Congratulations also goes out to Daniel Althouse who shot 804 in the first 3 games of qualifying.  Also, Congrats to Roger Harford Jr for shooting 299 during match play.

The PJBT gave away approx. $900 in scholarship on this event.
