Celmer & Patrula Capture Final Regular Season Titles At Colony Park North

The PJBT finished off its regular season for Year 16 with a regular format singles event at Colony Park Lanes North in York, PA.  This event was bowlers’ last chance to qualify for the invitational tournament in a couple of weeks.  This event was a normal format PJBT with 5 games qualifying, 3 Games of Match Play, and a top 5 stepladder.  The event saw 44 bowlers compete with 20 in scratch and 24 in Handicap.

In Scratch, Jack Celmer captured his 4th title of the season….which became the highest for any bowler this season.  In addition, the win was his 16th career title…boosting him into 5th place by himself on the all-time winningest bowlers in PJBT history.  Prior to this event, he was in a tie for 5th place with Ryan Wyandt and Owen Darby.  Celmer was seeded 2nd after the 5 game qualifying round with a total of 1220 or +220.  He only trailed qualifying leader Daniel Althouse by 2 pins entering Match Play.  In Match Play, Celmer won his matches and defeated Althouse in the final match play game to obtain the tournament lead entering the stepladder finals.  In the final, Celmer took on 2nd seed Kyle Davy for the title.  Celmer got off to a hot start and never looked back.  He shot 269 in the final and defeated Davy 269-181.  Celmer captured the title and the $200 top scholarship prize.

In Handicap, Robert Patrula captured his 2nd career PJBT title and his 2nd overall title of the year.  Patrula also had a solid qualifying round and stood in 4th place after 5 games.  Patrula had a score of 1090 or +90.  He only trailed qualifying leader Blayne Tasillo, 2nd seed Tyler Tasillo and 3rd seed Riley Celmer.  Patrula made his move in match play.  He won all his matches and walked to the top of the leaderboard entering the stepladder final.  In the title match, Patrula bowled took on 3rd seed Blayne Tasillo.  This match came down to the 10th frame but Patrula prevailed 231-218 to take home the title and the $200 top scholarship prize.

In addition, we had 3 honor scores bowled on this day.  Jack Celmer shot 300 during qualifying to win the $180 in the 300 Pot.  Dylan Zimmerman shot an 11 in a row 299 game and Daniel Althouse had an 11-in-a-row 290 Game.  Congrats to all these bowlers.
