The PJBT continued its 17th Season with our 17th Event of the Year.  This event was a singles event at Jay Lanes in Douglassville, PA.  This event was our final event before the Christmas holiday.  The event saw a smaller than normal turnout due to a high school Snowroller Tournament going on also.  However, the bowlers who came got to enjoy an exciting event.  36 bowlers took to the lanes….18 in each division.  On this day, we did our normal format of 5 games, top 40% (in this case top 10) advanced to 3 games of match play….and after 8 games, the top 5 bowlers in each division advanced to the stepladder final.  This event was conducted on a house shot condition.

In Scratch, Zachary Dragovits continued his season domination with his 5th win of the year and 7th career win.  Dragovits had to work hard though for this title.  After 5 games of qualifying, he shot 1207 and was at +207.  He was seeded 5th out of 10 semi-finalists.  He trailed the leader Alex Blood by 30 pins.  In match play, he shot some big games with wins and propelled himself into the tournament lead by just 3 pins over 2nd seed Austin Kerper.  Dave Callahan was 3rd followed by Alex Blood and Alex Glinski.  Blood defeated Glinski in Match 1.  Blood also defeated Callahan in Match 2.  However, Blood’s run ended when Kerper defeated Blood in the semi-final.  This set up Dragovits vs Austin Kerper for the title.  The match was a shot-for-shot type of match.  In the end, Dragovits shot 247 and defeated Kerper with 225.  Dragovits won the top prize of a $200 scholarship and award from Crown Trophy.

In Handicap, Sydney Pleasanton captured her 1st ever PJBT singles title.  It is her 2nd career title….as she won an adult/junior event with her dad last year.  Sydney led the event in qualifying.  She entered with a 188 average and received 10 pins handicap.  She shot games of 167, 223, 226, 255, and 244 to put her at 1165 (+165).  She lost her lead in the event in match play as she slipped to 4th place in the top 5 entering the finals.  She was bypassed by leader Tommy Burns Jr, 2nd seed Nick Rynes, and 3rd seed Shania Jennings.  Pleasanton walked the ladder to win!  She first defeated 5th seed Alyssa Sauer 212-199.  In Match 2, Pleasanton defeated Jennings 214-193.  Onto the semi-final….where Pleasanton defeated Nick Rynes 228-195.  This advanced her to the title match vs Tommy Burns Jr.  This match came down to the last shot in the 10th frame.  Pleasanton outlasted Burns 168-165 to take the title and the $200 top scholarship prize.

No honor scores were bowled on this day.  300 Pot carries over to our Rotogrip Xmas Tournament on December 26, 2015.
