The PJBT continued his 18th season with a trip to Jay Lanes in Douglassville, PA.  Jay Lanes is a unique 24 lane house with 12 lanes on both sides.  Our tour enjoys visiting here, especially since the center got a total facelift a couple of years ago when it went under new management.  This day saw 39 athletes, including 20 in Scratch and 19 in Handicap take to the lanes.  This event was a regular season singles event on a house pattern.

In Scratch, Eric Erb went to victory lane….capturing his 11th career PJBT title.  Erb started strong and was consistent all day.  He shot games of 235, 228, 231, 266, and 223.  Erb was at +183 after 5 games and sat in 3rd place.  First cut was 10th place and that cut score was +129.  In Match Play, Erb advanced himself into the second seed position, winning 2 of his 3 matches.  Erb stood at +379 and only trailed tournament leader Dylan Zimmerman by 19 pins entering the stepladder final.  In the finals, Erb took on #3 seed Sam Bortnick.  Erb defeated Bortnick 244-193.  This advanced Erb into the title match vs Zimmerman.  This match saw lots of strikes!  In the end, Erb shot 258 and beat Zimmerman’s 236.  Erb captured the $200 top scholarship prize and plaque for his win.

In Handicap, Wren Williamson won her 1st PJBT title in just her 1st ever event!  Williamson entered the event with an 81 average and 107 pins handicap per game.  Williamson shot scratch games of 121, 103, 124, 102, and 103.  After 5 games, she stood at +88 and was seeded 3rd.  The first 10th place cut was +16.  In Match Play, Williamson advanced herself into the #2 seed position.  She stood at +204 and only trailed tournament leader Tom Burns Jr.  In the finals, Williamson took on Ethan Matthews.  In a close match, Williamson defeated Matthews 202-182.  This advanced her into the title match vs Tom Burns Jr.  Williamson made sure this title match was locked up!  She got off to a good start and never looked back.  Williamson shot 215 to Burns’ 163 and took the title.  Williamson won a $200 scholarship and plaque for her win.

Congratulations also goes out to the honor scores bowled on this day.  Dylan Zimmerman bowled a perfect 300 Game during qualifying and took home the $126 300 Pot!  In addition, Ethan Matthews had an 11-in-a row 299 Game and Eric Erb had a 298 Game.  Congrats to all our honor scores!

Next Week:  PJBT returns to Hiester Lanes for our Final 21 & Under Doubles Event of the Season.  Doubles Event is Sunday, April 2nd, starting at 10:30am.
