In Scratch, Christian Francis finally broke through and won his 1st PJBT Title.  His Partner, Tom Barna Jr, as the adult…captured his 9th career PJBT Title.  Francis & Barna were near the top of the leaderboard all day.  They shot 434, 480, 491, 468, and 451 during qualifying to put them near the top the large scoreboard of entries.  In Round 2, they shot games of 441, 501, and 456.  These games propelled them into the tournament lead entering the top 4 bracket final.  In the final, #1 seed took on #4 seed while #2 took on #3 in a 1 game match.  Winners advanced to bowl each other in the title.  #1 Francis/Barna Jr took on #4 Michael Martell/Travis Sparks.  Francis/Barna Jr made this match no contest.  They shot an impressive 534 combined and defeated Martell/Sparks 534-409.  This advanced them to the title match vs #3 seed Zachary Dragovits/Bradley Crouse.  Dragovits/Crouse defeated #2 seed Jack Celmer/Ryan Porr 448-437 to advance to the final.  In the title match, it was neck-and-neck.  Both teams could have easily struck out to force a tie.  Crouse did not and by a slim margin Francis/Barna Jr defeated Dragovits/Crouse 396-385 to take home the top prize of $300 scholarship for Francis and a $150 gift card for Tom Barna Jr.

In Handicap, the Carnal’s brought home the title.  This win was James’ 3rd career PJBT title, while his dad’s 1st in an Adult/Junior.  The Carnal’s shot games of 458, 331, 434, 384, and 394 scratch in qualifying.  Combine these scores with their handicap and they were also near the top of the leaderboard entering Round 2.  In Round 2, they shot games of 372, 362, and 384.  They maintained their position and was seeded #2 entering the finals.  They only trailed tournament leaders #1 Josh & Brian Honish.  In the 4 team final, #2 Carnal/Carnal took on #3 seed Brett Wolgemuth & Matthew Pleger.  This match was the closest of all our matches.  It came down to the last shot of the 10th frame.  Carnal/Carnal survived and defeated Wolgemuth/Pleger by just 1 pin 393-392.  The other semi-final saw #1 seed Honish/Honish defeat #4 seed Katelyn & Tara Musselman 351-348.  In the title match, it was #1 vs #2.  Honish/Honish vs Carnal/Carnal.  Carnal’s got off to a hot start and never looked back.  Carnal/Carnal defeated Honish/Honish 388-356 in the title match to take home the top scholarship prize of $300 and the top gift card prize of $150.
