Glinski Wins 8th Career Title while Stackewicz Her First at Jordan

The PJBT continued its 18th season with a visit to Jordan Lanes in Allentown (Whitehall), PA.  Jordan Lanes is a unique center for our tour.  It combined modern bowling with old-school wood lanes.  Our events here are always exciting because today’s modern lane patterns combined with wood lanes make for a challenge for our bowlers.

On this day, we had 48 bowlers compete on the WTBA London Pattern.  We had 32 bowlers competing in Scratch and 16 in Handicap.  Format for this event was our normal 5 game singles format.

In Scratch, Alex Glinski captured his 1st season title of 2016-2017 and won his 8th career PJBT title.  Glinski last won our scratch title at the inaugural Tournament of Champions last June.  Glinski started slow with a 183 1st game.  However, in Game 2 he turned it on and never looked back! He shot games 224, 226, 227, and 233 for 1093 (+93).  Glinski was seeded 3rd of 14 bowlers advancing to match play.  14th place cut was -57.  Glinski went 2-1 in match play with games of 242, 188, and 162.  After 8 Games, Glinski was the tournament leader by just 6 pins over 2nd seed Zachary Vitelli.  In the title match, Glinski took on Vitelli.  Glinski got off to a fast start and never looked back.  Glinski shot 243 and defeated Vitelli in the title match, as he shot 178.  Glinski took home the $200 top scholarship prize and plaque for his victory.

In Handicap, Allison Stackewicz, one of our youngest PJBT winners, got her 1st PJBT title on this day.  Allison entered the event with an 85 league average and 103 pins handicap per game.  She shot qualifying scratch games of 88, 69, 108, 107, and 123.  After 5 games, she shot 1010 (+10) after qualifying.  She was seeded 3rd entering match play.  The top 8 advanced to match play.  Cut was -49 for top 8.  In Match Play, Stackewicz turned it on!  She went 3-0 with games of 140, 77, and 125.  After 8 Games, Allison was the tournament leader by 55 pins entering the stepladder finals.  Allison took on #2 seed Stephen Yuhas in the title match.  This match came down to the 10th frame.  In the end, Stackewicz outlasted Yuhas 142-123 to take home the title.  Allison, with the title, won a $200 scholarship top prize and her plaque for the victory.

There was no honor scores on this day…..so our 300 Pot carries over to next week at Clearview Lanes, Mount Joy.
