The PJBT finished off its 18th Regular Season with a Singles Event at Colony Park Lanes North in York, PA.  This traditional Saturday event has been a tradition for some time now to finish off our regular season and give bowlers a last chance to qualify for our championship tournament.

On this day, 50 athletes took to the lanes with 29 in Scratch and 21 in Handicap.  Format was our normal singles event format and the lane pattern for this event was WTBA Montreal. Ironically, on this day we had the same winners together in each division from our 9th Major in the Year earlier at Berks Lanes….about a month ago.

In Scratch, Andrew Lazarchick extended his incredible PJBT season….as he won his high 6th title of the year.   Lazarchick’s route to victory was a great example of perseverance for a bowler.  You should never give up!  Lazarchick started the day with his worst game of 138.  After making some lane adjustments, he shot 248, 245, 221, and 232 for 1084 or +84.  He was near the bottom of the scoreboard after Game 1 but lead the field after qualifying.  In Match Play, Lazarchick maintained his lead going 2-1 with games of 257, 209, and 200.  Lazarchick stood at +210 and was the tournament leader entering the stepladder finals.  In the final match, Lazarchick took on #5 seed Isaac Erickson.  Erickson, who battled thru qualifying and match play….squeaked into the finals and got hot!  He won 3 straight stepladder matches over Ryan Taylor, Alex Glinski, and Dylan Zimmerman to make it to the final.  In the title match, Lazarchick posted some early strikes together and never looked back.  Lazarchick defeated Erickson in the title match 245-184.  Lazarchick took home the $200 top scholarship prize and trophy for his victory.

In Handicap, Wren Williamson captured her 3rd PJBT title of the season.  Williamson, who averaged 87 received 101 pins handicap.  Her style of bowling was not affected by the tough lane pattern.  She shot scratch games of 125, 122, 136, 140, and 125 for 648 or 1153 with handicap.  She was the tournament leader after qualifying at +153 and had almost a 120 pin lead on the field!  In Match Play, she dominated…going 3-0.  She rolled games of 136, 94, and 112.  She stood at +288 entering the stepladder final.  In the final match, she took on 3rd seed Ashton Kozak.  This match was very close to the end.  Williamson outlasted Kozak 157-136 to take home the title.  Williamson won a $200 scholarship prize and trophy for her win.

There were no honor scores on this day so 300 Pot carries over to next week.

This ends our regular season and the POSTSEASON 2017 BEGINS!

Sunday, May 28th — 18th ANNUAL BRACKET ROLLOFF SURVIVOR TOURNAMENT at Colony Park Lanes North (same center).  We also will have our SWEEPER TOURNAMENTS for all bowlers on this day.  All the events begin at 10:30am.
