The PJBT starts to come down the home stretch on our 19th Season.  This week’s event was a traditional Saturday Afternoon Event….our Easter Classic.  Every year, one of the only events on Saturday happen on the Saturday before Easter.  This year was the first year this event had a new location.  This event was hosted for years in the past as the now closed Bowl-O-Rama in Reading.  This year’s event for the first time was at Jordan Lanes in Whitehall PA on Kegel Autobahn.  On this day, 64 competitors took to the lanes….of which 37 were in Scratch and 27 in Handicap.  Format for our Easter Classic is our typical Sunday Singles Event.  (5 games top 40% 3 match play….top 5 to stepladder finals).

In Scratch, Anthony Neuer captured his 7th career PJBT title and 4th on the season.  Neuer bowled solid games all during qualifying ….which was featured by his high 3rd game.  He had 225, 207, then a 279 game 3.  He followed it up with 217 and 221.  After 5 games, Neuer was the leader at +149.  First cut for 16th place after 5 games was -18.  Neuer maintained his lead thru match play, going from ffrom +149 to +307.  He had an 8 pin lead entering the stepladder final.  The final match show Anthony Neuer take on #3 seed Daniel Althouse.  Neuer defeated Althouse 235-208.  Neuer won a $200 scholarship and plaque for his victory.

In Handicap, Jonathan Pollison captures his 2nd career and season PJBT title.  Pollison’s nickname might become the holiday winner!  Pollison won his first ever PJBT earlier this year at the PJBT Xmas tournament and today captured the Easter Classic.  Pollison entered the event with a 161 average and 35 pins handicap.  Pollison shot scratch games of 155, 195, 201, 157, and 195.  Pollison stood at +78 and took the lead of the event in Game 5 of qualifying.  Pollison maintained his lead as in match play he went 2-1 and stood at +185 entering the finals.  In the title match, Pollison took on #4 seed Amanda Granata.  Granata had won all 3 stepladder matches leading up to the title match.  She beat Kalli Bzdil, Amelia Lemonowicz, and Cameron Shockey.  Title match was close to the end.  Pollison outlasted Granata 205-186 in route to victory.  Jonathan Pollison won a $200 scholarship and plaque for his victory.

No one bowled me so on this day the 300 Pot carried over to next week.  We paid out over $1400 dollars in scholarships on the day.   Thanks to all 64 who came out.

Next week:  PJBT returns to Hiester Lanes in Reading PA for our 4th 21 & Under Doubles event of the year.  Sunday April 8, 2018 10:30am
