The PJBT made history with our 1st Ever Women’s Only Bowling Tournament on Saturday, September 30th.   The PJBT saw 33 competitors, 16 in Scratch and 17 in Handicap compete in this first event.  Event was regular singles event format for PJBT.

Ironically, our first ever winners’ names both are Chloe….I mean Cloe.  That just spell it different!

In Scratch, Chloe Skurzynski captured the victory.   Skurzynski shot qualifying games of 224, 236, 212, 247, and 179 for 1098 for 5 (+98).  She was seeded 2nd after qualifying, only trailing tournament leader Amanda Barna.  In Match Play, Skurzynski went 2-1 and bypassed Barna into the lead of the tournament.  Entering the finals, Skurzynski lead….Barna was 2nd, followed by Morgan Daub, Emily Tull, and Lauren VanDaniker.  VanDaniker won the first two stepladder matches but was defeated by Barna in the semi-final match 220-180.  This set up the title showdown again between Skurzynski and Barna.  Skurzynski was victorious, winning the match 194-159.  Chloe won a $250 scholarship and plaque for her victory.

In Handicap, Cloe Noel, of Hanover, PA, won her first ever PJBT title.  Noel entered the event with a 120 average or 72 pins handicap per game.  Noel shot scratch games of 125, 123, 230, 130, and 201 for 1169 (+169).  She was the tournament leader entering match play.  Noel went 1-2 in match play but maintained her lead by 26 pins entering the stepladder final.  The final saw Cloe Noel leading, 2nd was Ally McGinley, followed by Taylor Arndt, Morgan Kline, and Madison Brenneman.  Brenneman defeated Kline in Match 1 166-152.  Then, Arndt outlasted Brenneman 203-200.  In the semi-final, McGinley defeated Arndt 203-182.  That set up the title match to be #1 vs #2.  Cloe Noel vs Ally McGinley.  This match was a classic.  It came down to the final shot.  Noel squeaked out a 1 pin victory 157-156 to take home the title.  Cloe Noel won a $250 scholarship and trophy for her win.

In all, we gave away over $1400 in scholarships and sidepots for our 1st ever Girls Event.  The next Girls Only Event is Saturday, December 23 at East Lincoln Lanes, York, PA at 2:30pm.
