The PJBT continued its 19th season with our 1st Adult Junior Event of the Season.  Adult Junior Events are always popular events during our season because it allows bowlers to get their adult friends and parents involved in the competition.  This first event saw 53 teams or 106 bowlers take to the lanes at Chacko’s Family Bowling Center.  Everyone competed on the Wall Street Kegel Recreational Pattern.  Format for event was 5 games, top 40% of teams bowl 3 additional games of qualifying.  After 9 games, top 4 teams advance to eliminator baker format final.  Eliminator final went from 4 teams bowling to 3 to 2 rolloff for the title.  Partners bowled 1 baker score in the finals for their team.

In Scratch, Antonio Reyes & Isaac Kim put on a dominating performance en route to victory.  Reyes/Kim shot some amazing team games during qualifying of 480, 526, 490, 555, and 475.  Reyes/Kim had a demanding lead on the field of 25 teams in Scratch.   In Round 2, Reyes/Kim shot 2 respectable games and 1 amazing game.  They shot 427, 537, and 436.  After 9 games, Reyes/Kim was at 3926 or +726!  Reyes/Kim entered the 4 team final in the lead.  They were joined by #2 seed Anthony & Andy Neuer, #3 seed Sam Bortnick/Andrew Dekowski and #4 seed Brandon Updike/Josh Sattazahn.  In the Quarterfinal eliminator, Reyes/Kim advanced rolling the highest team gaem of 256.  In the semi-final eliminator, they once again rolled the highest score of 3 teams with 226.  This advanced them into the title match vs #2 seed Anthony & Andy Neuer.  The title match was a close one, but in the end, Reyes/Kim did what they did all day.  They shot 247 on their way to victory over Neuer/Neuer with 224.  Reyes won a $200 scholarship and trophy for the win while Isaac Kim got a $150 payout and Plaque for his victory.

In Handicap, first-timers Logan & Gene Visneski won their 1st ever PJBT title.  The Visneski’s were also putting on a dominate performance on this day.  They entered the event with 309 team average and getting 81 pins per game.  They shot team games scratch of 391, 356, 349, 362, and 381.  They lead the field of 28 teams entering Round 2.  Round 2 saw them bowl games of 317, 314, and 314.  They gave back some of their lead but it didn’t matter with the big cushion they had from Round 1.  They stood at 3434 or +234 entering the finals.  They were the #1 seed, while joining them was #2 Jacob Gilbert/Rob Jennings, #3 Aliza Shirk/Jennifer Wagner and #4 Zachary & Kristopher Smith.  In Quarterfinal round, the Visneski’s advanced by bowling the highest team game with handicap of 249.  In Semifinal round, the Visneski’s once again shot the high game of the group with 260!  This advanced them into the title match vs #3 seed Aliza Shirk & Jennifer Wagner.  In the title baker match, Visneski’s defeated Shirk/Wagner 199-167 to take home the title.  Logan Visneski won a $200 scholarship and plaque while Gene Visneski received $150 payout and Plaque for his win.

Congrats also to Sam Bortnick who bowled an 11-in-a row 299 during qualifying.  Also, Brandon Updike rolled an 11-in-a-row 290 during Round 2 of qualifying.  Congrats to all our honor scores and scholarship winners.
