The PJBT continued its 18th Season with Major #3 of the Season.  Our 3rd Major was held at ABC North Lanes in Harrisburg, PA.  The event was conducted on the Kegel Route 66 Pattern.  We saw 72 athletes take to the lanes on this day….40 in Scratch and 32 in Handicap.

I knew the streak would eventually end…..but the most famous statistic of the season so far ended on this day.  For 7 Scratch Events, our PJBT Tour, based in centers all over Pennsylvania….still did not have a PA Winner.  Every state around us including New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts had winners.  That ended on this day….as Dylan Zimmerman, a frontrunner at the beginning of the year for Player of the Year….captured his 1st title of the year and his 10th career PJBT title.  Zimmerman put on a dominant performance in this 3rd major.  He began qualifying with games of 247, 202, 259, 258, 226, and 237.  He made this somewhat challenging pattern look easy.  He stood at +229 for 6 games and was the tournament leader.  During match play, Zimmerman went 2-1 with games of 247, 267, and 196.  Entering the 6 bowler final….Zimmerman was the tournament leader.  This stat played out in our final….as 4 of 6 finalists were from PA but we have 2 finalists from Maryland.  In the end, Zimmerman took on #2 Jack Celmer for the title.  Zimmerman got off to a hot start while Celmer struggled.  Celmer had a case of the splits as he just couldn’t leave makeable spares.  Meanwhile, Zimmerman strung along the strikes and took the title 224-147.  Zimmerman won a $300 scholarship and glass bowling pin trophy for his major title win.

In Handicap, Emma Parenteau, captured her 1st PJBT title of the year.  Emma was near the top of the leaderboard all day.  Emma entered the event with 146 average and 48 pins handicap per game.  She started slow with a 104 game but picked it up from there.  She shot 198, 134, 163, 169, and 180 scratch.  She sat +36 after 6 games and was in 3rd place entering match play.  Emma turned it up in match play.  She went 3-0 in match play shooting games of 161, 192, and 170.  After 9 games, Emma propelled herself into the tournament lead entering the finals.  Emma took on #3 Jody Royer in the title match.  This match was shot for shot until the 10th frame.  In the end, Parenteau outlasted Royer 169-154 to take home the title.  Parenteau won a $300 scholarship and glass bowling pin for her major win.

Congrats also to Olivia Farwell and Chloe Skurzynski for finishing as the 2 highest female finishers in Scratch.  Farwell won $50 scholarship and Skurzynski $30…thanks to our sponsor Shotmakers Pro Shop and Lane Tamers Pro Shop.  Finally, Jack Celmer had our only honor game of the day….shooting an 11-in-a-row 299 game during qualifying.
