The PJBT’s 16th season started with a bang, as 127 bowlers traveled to 222 Dutch Lanes. This season started just like last season in scratch.  Michael Martell of New York City had one of three 300’s in qualifying, and kept striking to win his 5th career title.  After only being plus 13 after three, his second three games were 277, 259, and 300.  His 724 and three wins in match play propelled him to top seed for the finals.  After a 268-181 win over #4 Conrad Chapple, Martell defeated #2 Isaac Kim, 225-166.  Martell earned the $300 top scholarship prize. Brett Wolgemuth of Columbia, PA won his first title in handicap.  He defeated Isaac Erickson, 214-137, in the final.  Wolgemuth averaged 174 for 11 games in winning the $300 top scholarship prize. New to this season are bonus scholarships for the top two girls in scratch, sponsored by Shot Makers Pro Shop and Lane Tamers Pro Shop.  Kelsey Hammons earned a $50 scholarship, and Sarah Kirch earned a $30 scholarship. Austin Chubb and Conrad Chapple also shot 300 in qualifying. Â
