Barna & Gordon capture titles at Palmyra

The PJBT rolled into Palmyra Bowling Center for our 2nd event of the season.  The event saw 70 bowlers come out and compete for scholarships. 36 bowled in Scratch and 34 in Handicap.In Scratch, Tom Barna Jr of Westminster, MD, defended his title from last year in the same event.  Barna led the scratch field after qualifying…going +258 for 5 games.  In match play, Barna won all 3 of his matches and maintained his tournament lead into the finals.  In the final match, Barna took on Greg Tack.  It was a close match down to the end….but Barna prevailed 224-214 to take the title.In Handicap, Trey Gordon captured his first PJBT title.  Gordon also had the tournament lead after qualifying – shooting 905 for 5 and with his handicap stood at +130.  In match play, Gordon won 2 of his 3 matches and maintained the tournament lead entering the finals.  In the title match, Gordon bowled Andrew Malozzi.  This match was epic as it came down to the last shot.  Gordon defeated Malozzi 247-244 and took the title.Congrats to Thomas Gunter on his 11 in a row 298 game during qualifying.
