The PJBT continued its 17th Season with a Singles Event at Jordan Lanes in Allentown, PA.  This event was event #15 on the schedule.  The event was a sport shot event….which saw all the athletes take on the Kegel Mexico City Pattern.  The pattern played tough considering the lane surface of wood at Jordan Lanes.  We saw 52 bowlers take the lanes on this day with 27 in Scratch and 25 in Handicap.

In Scratch, Zachary Dragovits continued his amazing season with his 3rd straight victory of the year and his 4th overall title of the season.  This win, combined with past wins….has clearly moved him….for now….as the leader in the clubhouse for Player of the Year.  Dragovits shot 1025 in the 5 games of qualifying on this day and was seeded 3rd out of 12 bowlers advancing to match play.  He only trailed leader Aaron Heckman and 2nd seed Alexis Neuer.  The cut for 5 games was -68.  In match play, Dragovits shot 2 good games of 3 and propelled himself into 2nd place on the leaderboard entering the stepladder final.  He only trailed tournament leader Alexis Neuer.  In the finals, Dragovits began in the semi-final match vs Dylan Zimmerman.  Zimmerman entered the finals as the #3 seed and had just won his prior match over Alex Glinski.  In the semi-final, Dragovits got out to an early start and never looked back….defeating Zimmerman 223-184.  In the title match, it was Alexis Neuer vs Dragovits.  Neuer was looking to become the 2nd female to win a scratch tournament this year…..but Dragovits denied her of that.  The final match went similar to the prior match.  Dragovits got out to a good start and never looked back….defeating Neuer 233-181 to take the title.  Dragovits won the $200 top prize and awards from Crown Trophy.

In Handicap, Chloe Skurzynski captured her first ever PJBT title.  Chloe entered the event with a 181 average and received 17 pins a game.  She shot scratch games in qualifying of 168, 194, 146, 158, and 173.  She stood at -76 and was seeded 7th out of 10 bowlers advancing to match play.  This was a tough pattern for the handicap bowlers….as after 5 games….there was NO bowlers plus on the leaderboard.  The leader was -18 and 10th place was -91.  So all 10 semi-finalists scores were close.  In match play, Chloe won all her matches and propelled herself to the leader of the event at +67 after 8 games.  In the final, Skurzynski took on Caleb Heckman for the title.  Caleb was the #2 seed entering the finals and was coming off a win over Breanne Hood in the prior match.  Skurzynski started off strong and shut out her opponent early.  She shot 246 and defeated Heckman, who had 177.  Chloe Skurzynski won the $200 top prize and awards from Crown Trophy.

No award scores bowled on this day.  The 300 Pot had started over at this event….so we only saw a $10 carryover to next week.
