7 More Youth Qualify for Junior Gold – PJBT Qualified Bowlers at 26

The PJBT Bowling Series organization conducted its 4th Junior Gold Only Qualifier Tournament on January 9, 2016.  41 bowlers attended ABC East in Harrisburg, PA, to compete in their respective divisions for a chance to win a spot into 2016 Junior Gold National Championships in July 2016 in Indianapolis.

On this day, we qualified 7 bowlers.  We qualified 3 bowlers in Under 20 Division (2 Boys and 1 Girl).  We also did the same for the Under 15 Boys & Girls.  Finally, our top Under 12 Bowler overall qualified for Junior Gold.  Format for the event is each bowler rolls 4 games on a challenging pattern.  This event’s pattern was London.  The results are final after 4 games.

In U20 Boys, Alex Glinski dominated the division and won the qualifier.  He shot games of 247, 195, 248, and a tournament high 267 for a total of 957 (+157).  2nd Place also qualified.  That went to Scott Schnur Jr.  Scott shot 789 for 4 Games (-11) and won his spot by just 10 pins over the next bowler.

In U20 Girls, Olivia Laird captured the spot.  She shot 233, 185, 182, and 179 for a 4 game total of 779 (-21).  She was top seed and won the qualifier by 39 pins.

In U15 Boys, Nick Wagner won the qualifier on his last game.  He only had 151 Game 1….but followed it up with 190, 218, and 247.  He shot 806 (+6) and won the qualifier by 37 pins.  The second place finisher also won his spot.  That went to Anthony Neuer.  Neuer, the former U12 National Champion, shot 769 (-31) for 4 games and finished 2nd by 20 pins over the next bowler.

In U15 Girls, PJBT regular Lexi Kile captured her spot and trip to Indy.  She shot games of 185, 177, 171, and 175 for a 4 game total of 708.  It was a nail-bitter as she won the qualifier by just 4 pins over the 2nd place bowler, Chloe Skurzynski.

In U12 Overall, Nate Trentler won the spot shooting a 4 Game Scratch Total of 637.  He won the spot by just 2 pins over 2nd place bowler Tom Burns Jr.

These 7will join our 19 bowlers already qualified….bringing our qualified bowler list to 26 bowlers.  We will be holding monthly qualifiers thru the rest of the season….so if you haven’t qualified yet….come on out!
