The PJBT has always been one of the largest junior bowling series in the world. The talent of our youth is amazing and growing every year, as our youth take their talents to the national stage.
This year the youth national event, The Junior Gold National Championships in Indianapolis on 2016. The PJBT qualified 62 bowlers to compete in this event and many countless others competed in the event. They may not have qualified thru us….but they are part of the PJBT Family.
I, Matt Himmelreich, tournament director, is so proud to see how much of an impact our tour has had on our youth. We had a record amount of bowlers cash in this year’s event.
Junior Gold saw close to a record 3200 athletes compete in six divisions. Junior Gold had 1356 athletes in U20Boys, 792 in U20Girls, 519 in U15Boys, 301 in U15Girls, 201 in U12Boys, and 121 in U12Girls. Below are ALL the PJBT athletes that made the first grueling cut in their respective divisions.
We want to congratulate Anthony Mastroianni on finishing 2nd (national youth runner-up in U12Boys Division). We also want to recognize Alexander Horton on finishing 3rd/4th with Brandon Bohn on Jackson, NJ. Anthony Neuer finished 3rd/4th out of 519 boys in U15. Neuer was the tournament leader after 16 grueling games of qualifying. Amazing job! Amanda Barna also had a great showing this year. Barna was near the top of the U15Girls Leaderboard all week. Barna finished in the top 10 in the U15Girls division and made a great run toward a win in her division.
The PJBT had 17 bowlers of 194 in the u20Boys First Cut….including our highest finisher being Michael Martell in 21st. Keep in mind that our boys finished this high against 1356 athletes! All 17 listed below.
