Baer & Hedgecock Capture Victory at First Doubles Event of the Year

The BuddiesProShop.com Adult Bowlers Tour continued its season with our 2nd event of the year.  It was a trip to ABC West Lanes in Mechanisburg, PA, for our first any partner doubles event of the season.  The event saw 32 doubles teams (64 bowlers) take to the lanes on a competitive Kegel-created unique pattern.

Format for the event was 6 games of qualifying with the top 6 teams advancing to the NFL Bracket Final.  Seeds 1 & 2 receive a bye – Round 1 is 3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5.  Winners bowl Seeds 1 & 2 in the semi-finals and winners bowl each other for the title.

This month’s winners were Adam Baer & Luke Hedgecock.   Baer/Hedgecock had a solid day of qualifying.  They shot team games of 423, 424, 347, 445, 380, and 472.  After 6 games, Baer/Hedgecock stood at 2491 (+91).  They were the #4 seed of 6 teams entering the finals.  They only trailed tournament leaders Chris Wilson & Neal Vital by 30 pins.  The 6th place cut off team score was +46 for 6 games.  In the finals, #4 seed Baer/Hedgecock took on #5 seed Ernie Kukacs/Ed Bulkilvish.  They squeaked out a 1-game team victory 412-407.  The other quarterfinal match saw #6 seed Rich Jerome/Danny Wiseman defeat #3 seed Brooke Bower/Mike Lattuca 453-414.  In the semi-final, it was Baer/Hedgecock taking on #2 seed Artie Fink/ Todd Hadden.  Baer/Hedgecock won this match, shooting 464.  They won 464-414.  In the other semi-final, #1 Chris Wilson & Neal Vital defeated Jerome/Wiseman 392-362.  This set up the title match of #1 vs #4.  Wilson/Vital vs Baer/Hedgcock.  In the title match, it came down to the final shot.  In the end, Baer/Hedgock squeaked out a victory over Wilson/Vital 392-378 to take home the title.  Adam Baer & Luke Hedgcock won $1500 for their victory!
