The PJBT’s 20th anniversary season includes an expanded schedule of all-girls events, sponsored in part by the PJBT MAPS program. That schedule kicked off on September 22nd at ABC West Lanes in Mechanicsburg. 31 ladies took to the lanes, including several newcomers. Formats for the all-girls events follows the standard PJBT format of five games qualifying, with at least the top 40% advancing to three games of match play. Top five advance to stepladder match play.

In the scratch division, Chloe Skurzynski won this event in 2017, and repeated her title this weekend. She qualified 4th, rolling games of 179, 230, 211, 183, and 184, for minus 13. First cut was minus 57. She won two out of three matches, with games of 176, 192, and 216, and moved up to 3rd at plus 31. Skurzynski then survived a tough match against #2 Kiearra Saldi, 200-193. Alexis Neuer was top seed, having rolled 279 and 276 in match play. Neuer tripped a 4-pin in the 9th to take the lead, but couldn’t get the 10-pin to tumble on the first ball of the 10th. Skurzynski stepped up and doubled in the 10th for a 214-196 triumph. She earned the $250 top scholarship prize.
