Courtney/Jaquith & Gleason/Riker Walk Into Winners Circle at Trindle

The PJBT continued its 21st Season with a trip to Trindle Bowl in Mechanisburg, PA, for our 21 & Under Doubles Event.   On this day, we had 94 bowlers (47 doubles teams) competing.  We had 21 scratch teams and 26 Handicap Teams.

Trevor Courtney & Drew Jaquith captured the scratch title.  For Courtney, it was his 2nd title in a month while Jaquith got his first title in six years!  Courtney & Jaquith were near the top of the leaderboard all day.  They started qualifying with games of 431, 488, 405, 387, and 452.  In Round 2, they shot 374, 498, and 433.  After 8 games, Courtney/Jaquith were +268 and leading the field into the baker format stepladder finals.  In the final, Courtney/Jaquith took on Caden Mutchler/Anthony Remley.  In the title match, Courtney/Jaquith outlasted Mutchler/Remley 221-189 to capture the title.  Each bowler received a $200 scholarship ($400 team) and acrylic plaque for the victory.

Shane Gleason & Noah Riker both captured their ever PJBT title.  Gleason/Riker entered the event receiving 43 pins handicap per team game.  They shot scratch games of 411, 334, 426, 335, and 441 during qualifying.  In Round 2, they shot 357, 376, and 386 to be at +210 for 8 games.  Gleason/Riker stood in 2nd place entering the stepladder finals.  Gleason/Riker entered the finals in the semifinal round and faced off vs Haley Brown/David Swavely.  In a close match that came down to the 10th frame….Gleason/Riker defeated Brown/Swavely 180-171.  In the title match, Gleason/Riker took on tournament leaders Joshua Hammons/Jordan Kohler.  Gleason/Riker shot 200 to Hammons/Kohler’s 179 to win.  Each bowler received a $200 scholarship ($400 team) and plaque for their win.

Congrats also to Ambrose Shirk who started the day with a perfect 300 Game to win our building 300 Pot of $269.  He then followed it up with games of 278 and 259 for 837 series.  Our first 800+ series of the season.  Austin Leon also rolled an 11-in-a-row 290 Game during qualifying.
