This year’s championship weekend events mean double trouble

The 15th season of the PJBT wraps up in grand style during the first full weekend of June at Limerick Bowl.

As usual, PBA Hall of Famer Parker Bohn III will be with us… how long he is with us depends on how well he bowls in the Senior US Open.  Once he is finished, he will fly in from Las Vegas to join us. With or without Parker, five PBA professionals will join us for the 3rd Annual PJBT PBA Skins Match.  Competitors include PBA Hall of Famers Doug Kent and Danny Wiseman, US Open Champion Bill O’Neill, groundbreaking PBA Champion Kelly Kulick, and 2013 PBA Chameleon Champion Ryan Ciminelli.

Those pros and a dozen additional professional competitors will be part of the No-Tap Pro-Am on Saturday, June 7th at 9AM.  Youth entry fee is $25, and adult entry fee is $30.

The Parker Bohn III Adult/Junior Skins has two squads.  The 12:30pm is limited to 48 teams.  The 4:00pm squad is limited to 72 teams.  Paid entries received by June 1st earn a discount.  The top three scratch and handicap teams advance to Saturday night’s skins match with Parker Bohn III.

Sunday features the PJBT award ceremony at 10:15AM.  Bohn and Kulick will help present awards.   The 15th Invitational Championship follows, with 120 of the best bowlers from this season competing for a top prize of a $600 scholarship in each division.  All bowlers bowl six games, with the top 40% advancing to bowl three games of match play.  After game 9, the top two seeds receive byes to the semifinals.  Seeds 3 through 10 advance to a bracket.  Each bracket’s two survivors are joined by the top two seeds for the semifinals and finals.  Both of last year’s final matches came down to the 10th frame, with Layne Sandt and Austin Summers claiming titles. Nearly $10,000 in prizes, awards, and scholarships will be given out over these three days. Flyers for the pro-am and skins are available at bowlersconnect.com.
