The PJBT continued its 19th season with our 2nd EVER Girls Only Tournament at East Lincoln Lanes in York, PA.  The PJBT and MAPS scholarship program sponsored the event.  This event, similar to the first one earlier this year….had a great turnout for the women’s only event.  On this day, we had 40 girls come out…including 23 in Scratch and 17 in Handicap.

In Scratch, Olivia Farwell put on a dominant performance in route to victory.  Farwell, the high school National Champion….won her first competing event of this season.  Farwell started qualifying with her lowest game of the day, a 181.  She followed it up with games of 258, 230, 238, and 225.  She qualified 2nd behind Alexis Neuer at +132.  In Match Play, she shot some big games and beat Neuer in a match play game.  This propelled Farwell to the tournament lead by over 120 pins over the rest of the field.  In the title match of the stepladder, Farwell took on Alexis Neuer in a rematch.  Farwell impressed everyone with an almost perfect 279 game in the title match to win.  Farwell defeated Neuer in the title match 279-237.  Farwell won a $250 scholarship and plaque for her girls only title.

In Handicap, A’La Harris of Clearmont Delaware captured the victory.  Harris lead the tournament wall-to-wall.  She entered the event with a 153 entering average and 42 pins handicap per game.  Harris shot 213, 174, 165, 184, and 189 scratch.  She stood at +135 after qualifying and was the leader.  Harris won 2 of her 3 match play matches and maintained her lead entering the stepladder finals.  In the title match, Harris took on #3 seed Timberlynn Barnhart.  Harris defeated Barnhart 187-151 to bring home the win.  Harris won a $250 scholarship and plaque for her win.

The next and final women’s tournament is our female invitational tournament on Sunday May 12 at ABC East Lanes in Harrisburg, PA.  Guaranteed $500 top prize.
