The PJBT continued its 25th Anniversary Season with one of our most popular events during the year.  This event was our 1st Adult/Junior of the Season.  Every team is made up of one sanctioned Youth Bowler and one Adult Bowler.

On this day, we had 106 bowlers or 53 Teams competing.  We had 60 bowlers/30 teams in Scratch and 46 bowlers/23 teams in Handicap.

The format for the adult-junior was 5 games of qualifying.  The top 40% of teams in each division advanced to the eliminator round.  2 More games of eliminator cut the field to the final 4 in each division for a bracket final.  Bracket final was 1 vs 4 in a match and 2 vs 3.  Winners then bowled each other for the title.

In Scratch, Ryan Schultz/Darnell Smith captured the victory.  Out of 30 teams, Schultz/Smith was near the top of the leaderboard.  They made their move in games 6 and 7 with team games of 459 and 412.  Schultz/Smith qualified as the 4 seed of 4 teams entering the finals.  In the semi-final, Schultz/Smith took down tournament leaders Jacob & Scott Bockstie 501-448.  With the win, they advanced to the title match to take on #3 seed Vincenzo Picillo/Johnny Petraglia Jr.  In an entertaining title match….Schultz/Smith defeated Picillo/Petraglia Jr 417-363.  Schultz/Smith each won $200 individually.

In Handicap, Connor & Andy Pannebecker dominated the day and went home with victory.  Pannebecker’s got off a hot start when adult, Andy Pannebecker shot 814 during qualifying (277-279-258).  They led the field almost beginning to end.  After 7 games, the Pannebecker’s were in the lead at +164.  Pannebecker’s won their semifinal match vs #4 seed Liana & Chris Lucchese 447-346.  In the final, Pannebecker’s defeated the Lang’s (Ryan & Joseph) 391-374 to win.  Both of the Pannebecker’s earned a $200 prize individually.

Andy Pannebecker had our only honor score of the day with his 814 Series for the first three games of qualifying.

In all, this event gave away over $3000 in prizes.  Paid out the top 6 Teams in Scratch and 5 in Handicap.
