The PJBT continued its 18th Season with a return trip to AMF Parkway Lanes for the 2nd straight week.  This week, however, was our 1st Doubles Event of the Season.  This 21 & Under Doubles Event allowed any bowlers 21 Years of Age or Under to team up and bowl.  The format was 5 games of qualifying….top 40% of teams advanced to 3 additional games of qualifying.  After 8 games, the top 5 teams advanced to our baker format stepladder final.

This year’s event saw 50 teams or 100 bowlers competing.  25 Teams were Competing in Each Division.

In Scratch, Olivia Farwell & Kurtis Stidd captured the doubles title.  Farwell & Stidd shot solid team games all day.  In qualifying, they shot 477, 482, 494, 449, and 421.  These scores had them as the tournament leaders for most of the day.  The top 10 teams advanced to Round 2 of 3 additional games of qualifying.  Farwell/Stidd shot 429, 418, and 440.  These scores lost them the tournament lead but they were seeded in 2nd place entering the baker format stepladder final.  Farwell/Stidd only trailed tournament leaders Aaron & Tyler Heckman.  In the finals, Farwell/Stidd took on #3 seeds Connor Kolessides/Jarrett Defalco in the semi-final match.  Farwell/Stidd shot a baker 268 game and wrapped this match up early.  Farwell/Stidd defeated Kolessides/Defalco 268-224.  This advanced them into the final match vs The Heckmans.  In the title match, Farwell/Stidd again got off to a strong early start.  They pulled away as the Heckmans started with back-to-back open frames.  Farwell/Stidd defeated Aaron & Tyler Heckman 236-168 to take home the title.  With the win, Olivia Farwell & Kurtis Stidd each received a $200 scholarship and plaque for their doubles win.

In Handicap, Sarah Fenicle and Cameron Attig-Chavez brought home the victory.  This victory was their first win of the year.  Sarah’s last win came as the 2016 Handicap Invitational Champion.  Fenicle/Attig-Chavez entered the event with a team average of 307 and was receiving 83 pins handicap a game.  For qualifying, they shot team games scratch of 305, 299, 418, 356, and 353.  These scores had Fenicle/Attig-Chavez in the top 3 entering Round 2.  In Round 2, they shot solid team games of 385, 341, and 329.  These games propelled them into the tournament lead entering the baker format stepladder final.  In the title match, Fenicle/Attig-Chavez took on Bobby Schweeneis & Kyle Schaeffer.  This match was close throughout….but in the end….Fenicle/Attig-Chavez outlasted Schweeneis/Schaeffer 207-175.  Sarah Fenicle & Cameron Attig-Chavez each captured a $200 scholarship and a plaque for their victory.

Congrats to Aaron Heckman, who had our only honor score of the day.  Aaron had an 11-in-a-row 290 Game during qualifying.  300 Pot carried over to next week.
