The PJBT continued our 16th season with a Singles Event at Mountainville Bowling Center in Allentown, PA.  On this day, we saw 82 bowlers take on the lanes….43 bowlers in scratch and 39 in Handicap.

On this day, Michael Martell redeemed himself from last week and captured his 3rd title of the season.  Martell led the 5 game qualifying round at 1177 or +177.  Martell bowled well during match play but lost the lead of the event to Ambrose Shirk.  Martell was seeded 2nd entering the finals.  In the stepladder, Martell began by taking on Thomas Mattaini in the semi-final match.  Martell defeated Mattaini 236-179.  This advanced Martell to the title match vs Shirk.  Martell got off to a hot start in the match and never looked back….and unlike last week….made sure he closed the deal.  Martell defeated Shirk in the title match 235-180 and took home the $200 top scholarship prize.

In Handicap, Logan Chappell captured his first PJBT title.  Chappell qualified 3rd after the 5 game qualifying round with a score of 1100 or +100.  Chappell only trailed James Sabo (1110) and Kiley Hackbart (1105).  In match play, Chappell won his matches and passed everyone to become the tournament leader entering the finals.  In the title match, Chappell took on 2nd seed Kiley Hackbart.  The match came down to the 10th frame but Chappell defeated Hackbart 171-160 to capture the $200 top scholarship prize.

We also congratulate PAUL BEAUDOIN who shot 300 in Game 1 of qualifying to take home one of the largest 300 Pots we have seen in some time.  He won $339 in scholarship!  In addition, we congratulate Brianne Font who shot 300 and 2 Bowlers shot 11 in a row 290 games….Michael Martell & Brian Kennedy.
