The PJBT rolled into Lincolnway Bowling Center for our 16th event of the 2014-2015 season.  This week’s event saw 60 bowlers compete on the challenging WTBA Atlanta Pattern.  We had 37 bowlers in Scratch and 23 in Handicap.

In Scratch, Patrick Mitchell of Maryland captured his 5th career PJBT title.  The road to victory was not an easy one.  Mitchell was seeded 6th after the 5 game qualifying round.  He shot 994 and stood at -6.  In Match Play, he propelled himself just enough to become the 5th and final seed entering the finals.  He then won 4 straight stepladder matches to take the title.  First, he defeated Bradley Crouse 211-203.  In Match 2, Mitchell defeated Roger Harford Jr 275-245.  In the semi-final, Mitchell defeated Eric Erb 227-182.  In the title match, Mitchell took on tournament leader Zack Dragovits.  Mitchell defeated Dragovits 224-191 to take the $200 top prize.

In Handicap, Lexi Kile captured her first ever PJBT title.  Her road to victory was similar to Mitchell.  Kile was seeded 2nd after qualifying at +82 for 5 games.  In match play, she lost some ground but was still positiioned to make the finals as the #4 seed.  In the finals, Kile also walked the ladder winning every match.  Kile defeated Caden Duff in Match 1 180-135.  In Match 2, Kile defeated Ryan Steinheimer 162-159.  In the semi-final, Kile defeated Drew Jaquith 185-121.  Finally, in the title match….Kile defeated tournament leader Tana MacFeat 148-140.  Kile took home the $200 top scholarship prize.
