The PJBT continued its 17th Season with our 16th event of the year.   This week the PJBT went to Clearview Lanes for a singles event on the Kegel Middle Road Pattern.  Seasonably warm temperatures made for an easy commute for this event….considering snow played a part in the last couple of years’ events.  We saw 59 bowlers take to the lanes for this event….31 in Scratch and 28 in Handicap.

In Scratch, Dylan Zimmerman of Harrisburg, captured his 2nd title of the season and his 4th career PJBT title.  Zimmerman started off the 5 game qualifying round with games of 193, 223, 211 189, and 222.  He sat at +38 and was in 5th place.  After 5 games, only 6 bowlers were plus on the challenging pattern.  The 12th place cut for qualifying was -22.  In Match Play, Zimmerman won his matches and propelled himself into the 2nd place position on the scoreboard entering the finals.  He only trailed tournament leader Anthony Neuer.  Neuer shot a perfect 300 Game on the pattern in qualifying and took home the $33 300 Pot.  In the finals, Zimmerman took on #3 seed Alex Glinski in the semi-final.  This match was neck-and-neck until the final frames when Zimmerman pulled away and took the match 223-193.  This advanced him to the title match vs Anthony Neuer.  In the title match, Zimmerman knew he was going to need a big game to take down Neuer, who dominated the event all day.  That’s exactly what Zimmerman did.  Both bowlers started out with a handful of strikes but Zimmerman strung them together and shot 265 in the final to win.  Zimmerman defeated Neuer 265-240 to take home the title and the $200 top scholarship prize.

In Handicap, it was the story of the Skurzynski family.  Last week, Chloe Skurzynski captured her 1st ever PJBT title.  This week, it was Emily’s turn.  Emily led the qualifying field with a +78 for 5 games.  She maintained her tournament lead in Match Play….finishing 8 games at +153.  Entering the finals, Chloe was the leader at +153 and 2nd seed was Emily.   In the finals, Emily Skurzynski took on Ryan Widman in the semi-final match.  Emily outlasted Widman 200-164 to advance to the title match.  It was Skurzynski vs Skurzynski.  Chloe vs Emily.  In the title match, Emily got off to a good start and never looked back.  Emily Skurzynski defeated Chloe Skurzynski 210-171 to take the title and the $200 top scholarship prize.

Anthony Neuer took home the 300 Pot with his 300 and Congrats to Colby Reichenbach, who shot an 11 in a row 290 during qualifying.
